About our Community Shop
Welcome to our award-winning village shop in North Yorkshire run by volunteers for the community since May 2015. Following recent fundraising activity and extensive building works we are excited to be extending into the adjacent property to give level access, secure stock storage and a better environment for our valued customers, staff & volunteers.

Our Village Shop and Post Office is owned by our community shareholders and run by volunteers from our villages for the benefit and convenience of our community, supporting local suppliers.
Local Produce
The shop is open with a wide range of bread, essentials, newspapers and all the other items you’d expect in a local shop and more – see our page describing how we support local suppliers.
Opening Hours
Our shop is open:
Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm, Saturday 8am – 12.30pm and Sunday 9am – 11.30am.
Bank holidays 9am – 11.30am
(Closed Easter Sunday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day)
The Post Office is open:
Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, Saturday 9am – 12 noon.
Post Office
As well as stamps, and other essential Post Office services like sending parcels, you can pay bills, top up gas/electric keys, get banking services, order and collect foreign currency and collect your Amazon parcels!
Community Benefit Society
We are a registered Community Benefit Society, (not for profit) reporting to the FCA. This means that the shop activity is overseen by a small management committee and any surpluses made are reinvested back into the shop so it can continue to serve the communities of Huby and Sutton on the Forest.
Volunteering
